The J.W. Walker Organ at St. John (see photo, right) was installed in 1988. Carved into the wood supporting the pipes are many depictions of instruments of praise, such as lutes, lyres and trumpets.

The music program at St. John is under the direction of Mrs. Lois Z. Toeppner, Associate in Ministry for the ELCA. It features one of the finest volunteer adult choirs in this area, and many talented instrumentalists, who willingly share their gifts in giving glory to God. New in 2001 is the handbell choir, which includes ringers middle-school aged through adult. The choir meets for rehearsals weekly on Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. from September through June; handbells meet to rehearse on Wednesday nights at 7:30. Children and youth participate in the music program for special services and events.

In addition to programs from St. John, the church also hosts a variety of musical events from time to time, including the Wagner College Choir, Captive Free, the Colorado Christian University choir, and others.
