The Sunday School program at St. John meets from mid-September to mid-June, and includes classes for pre-schoolers through adults. Each curriculum is specially prepared for its age-group, and provides everything from basic Christian tenets to more in-depth examination of such topics as ethics in the current age and world social issues. In the fifth grade, learners are introduced to the sacrament of communion; in the third grade, students receive a Bible from the church to further their own individual study and spiritual growth. Youth, grades 9-12, meet for a special youth-group learning session during Sunday School. The children in the Sunday School are also responsible for a yearly Christmas (or Advent) Pageant. |
